Elderberry Chaga Syrup 32oz
  • Elderberry Chaga Syrup 32oz

Very similar in composition to my Immune Support Extract, Elderberry Chaga syrup is made using exceptional herbs and blended with local raw honey.

Elderberry (Sambucus nigra): The berries are nutritious, rich in flavonoids, and high in vitamin C, vitamin A, bioflavonoids, betacarotene, iron, and potassium. Research in Israel and the United Kingdom in the 1980’s and 1990’s indicated elderberry appeared to decrease both the duration and severity of the avian flu if taken properly.

Chaga Mushroom (Inonotus obliquus): The antioxidant activity of polysaccharides (beta-glucans) contained in chaga mushrooms supports the maintenance of cell integrity, resistance to free radicals, and the body’s immune defenses. In traditional Russian Folk Medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine, chaga is used to support gastrointestinal health, and as a tonic for overall health.

Astragalus root (A. membranaceus): An herb that has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine, it’s purported to enhance the immune system and reduce inflammation. It’s also used to help treat heart conditions, kidney disease and more.

Ginger (Zingiber officinale): Well-known for supporting the clearance of viruses and respiratory congestion, ginger is a great herb to draw from when you feel the onset of sickness encroaching or if you have already come down with something (Gladstar, 2012).

Rosehips (Rosa canina and Rosa rubiginosa): are perhaps most known for their extremely high amount of vitamin C. Rose hips are also known to be rich in antioxidants like carotenoids, and studies have been done that have determined that daily consumption of rose hip powder can significantly reduce cardiovascular risk in obese people through a lowering of blood pressure (Andersson, et al, 2012).

Ceylon Cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum): Traditionally, cinnamon (Cinnamomum spp.) has been used for conditions of the digestive tract and the respiratory tract. More recently, it has also been employed for blood glucose management, diabetes, and inflammation.

Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum): Many mushrooms, Reishi included, contain a specific polysaccharide called beta glucans.  Beta glucans have been shown to support immune health and function.  In addition to supporting your immune system and your body as a whole, the Reishi mushroom helps to support your liver.  This is important since the liver processes and cleans your blood while also producing bile, which is involved in digestion.
Reishi has been shown to have “hepatoprotective properties,” which is the scientific way of saying that it helps protect the liver.

Simmered to perfection, Elderberry Chaga syrup is a complex, dietary supplement and delicious by the spoonful. Combining the warmth of ginger and cinnamon, the tartness of elderberry and rosehips, the richness of chaga and astragalus, the end result is palate pleasing for all.
